Project 1 - Recomposition of Jacek Yerka's Artwork
(15/10/18) Week 8

For this project, we had to select one of Yerka's work to recreate using either some royalty-free stock images or our own photos. We weren't limited to any type of technique or method to do this recomposition, as we are free to use any of the tools/techniques that we learned in class.

As a student that first came to this course without any Photoshop knowledge, I wanted to do something that was easy, yet slightly challenging as well. I actually was planning to do Yerka's Petro.

However, I began to notice how slow my progress is while trying to recreate 'Petro' as I kept feeling dissatisfied with my results. So I decided to recreate another one of Yerka's piece, 'Edge of Space'.

I found that I need to use the brush tool and paint at certain parts of the images to make it seem more similar to Yerka's work. I felt that to do a recomposition, it was difficult to find images that look similar to what it needed to recreate something. Hence, I thought that manipulating the images a bit with the brush tool really helped, as well as displacing certain images in order to recreate certain textures.
