Lecture 1: Introduction to the module
Week 1 (29/08/2019)
Our class began with Mr. Shamsul introducing the module by letting us go through a few of our seniors' work as a reference for what to expect. Other than that, Mr. Shamsul went by asking the class what is "the purpose of packaging?" in order for us to get some insightful thoughts on the module.
Each student was asked to search online at least one purpose of packaging. Essentially, as we gathered information, we were asked to present what we have found and share our newly gained knowledge with the class.
In conclusion, this class activity resulted in having a list of the main purposes of packaging that we will refer to while doing our exercises throughout the module:
- 1. Safety
- 2. Brand identity/communication tool
- 3. Utility
- 4. Convenience
- 5. Sustainability.

Week 7
(10/10/2019)Our third exercise consisted of a thermoforming activity. We all had to bring more miscellaneous objects to class along with plastic sheets in order to thermoform. However, it ended up for that most of our objects were either too sharp or didn't have a durable material for it to be thermoform. Though, we did manage to thermoform some objects.
