REFLECTION

EXPERIENCES

Throughout this semester, I felt that typography was the most challenging module for me. Though, I knew that I learnt the most from this module. I experienced a variety of ways you can use text in an artwork. Through this module, I also got the oppurtunity to experience calligraphy and how to write using calligraphic pens. Generally, I experienced a lot new things about design that I wasn't aware of as I progressively become more exposed to the world of typography.

OBSERVATIONS

As a whole, I felt that this module made me realise I needed to grow fast and consistently stay on task without letting my doubts push me behind. Throughout this semester, I saw myself always hesitating to do some of the tasks given as well as hesistating to get feedback on some of my work, which only slowed me down severely. Other than that, I can definitely see how each student in the class had their own style of designing. I found that interesting and reassuring.

FINDINGS

For this module, I found that I was definitely overwhelmed with all the information I was exposed to. I felt that everything was so new to me that it was challenging, but slightly exciting. I found that I now know what is expected in terms of workload and how our schedule will be as this module did not just taught me about typography but the work ethic that we need to keep up. I feel like I'll be better prepared for the next semester now that I've learnt what I should and shouldn't do. Other than that, I found myself enjoying the lettering process where I'm able to freely distort text and aid my design with visual elements compared to the tasks weher we had to reply on being concise.
